All things considered, nothing matters more than showing up on Game Day at your best—both with performance and in health. The PitchSafe Daily Readiness Score offers players, coaches, and parents a crystal-clear view of an athlete’s mental and physical readiness.

Every performance metric plays a role. PitchSafe integrates data across sleep, throwing load, mental stressors, and recovery/sleep. Your personalized PitchSafe Profile Score—informed by age, weight, pitching velocity, injury history, positions played, and current throwing phase—sets your own personal workload (ACWR) threshold.

The result is one actionable number:

  • Red = Communicate, Prep, Reset if Necesarry

How It’s Calculated: Smart Training with Risk-Adjusted ACWR

PitchSafe begins by building your PitchSafe Risk Score—a personalized baseline derived from age, weight, throwing velocity, positions played, injury history, and where you are in your throwing progression. This score establishes how much daily workload you can handle safely, creating an individualized score that adjusts as your risk factors change.

Behind that score, we track your throwing with a medically validated, used-by-the-pros method: ACWR (Acute-to-Chronic Workload Ratio)—the ratio of your recent 7-day workload by your 28-day weekly rolling average.

However, instead of a base range for all athletes, your Risk Score customizes a range that is wholeheartedly individual: a lower-risk athlete gets a slightly wider zone; higher-risk players have stricter limits to prevent spikes. Each day you log activity, PitchSafe recalculates ACWR and compares it against your tailored target zone—letting you know whether to push, adapt, or reset if necessary.

If you throw too much, you might find yourself in the red. Not throwing enough? You’ll see yellow.

Recovery-Driven Readiness

Sleep is the backbone of daily readiness. PitchSafe gives special emphasis to sleep in calculating the Readiness Score, so you get a true snapshot of your recovery and preparedness. By starting each day informed about your rest quality, you can make smarter decisions—whether that means pushing for game-time performance or prioritizing recovery.

PitchSafe also allows for integration of all Wearable Devices to add a deeper level of data to your Readiness Score.

If you don’t use a wearable, simply log soreness (if any), hours slept and sleep quality.
